BOT Elektrownia Opole SA, registered office in Brzezie

Equipped with four generating blocks, BOT Elektrownia Opole SA is the most modern hard coal fuelled power station in the country.
 
In 2006, production of electric energy reached 8,6 TWh, which comprised 5,35% of the energy generated in the whole National Power System.
 
A part of Elektrownia Opole’s generation capacity provides capacity reserve, important for the security of supply in the National Power System and is marketed as a system control service.
 
At the end of 2006, the installed capacity of BOT Elektrownia Opole SA was 1,492 MW.
 
BOT Elektrownia Opole SA holds ISO certificate 14001 for Environmental Management Systems, SA certificate 8000 for social responsibility and three certificates for Health and safety (OHSAS 18001; PN-N 18001; level 7 of the International Safety Rating System ISRS, pursuant to the OES area examination techniques).
 
The positive conclusion to the verification process of the Environmental Management System, in accordance with the ISO 14001 standards, enabled BOT Elektrownia Opole to be registered in the voivodship register and then in the national register of the European system of eco-management and eco-audit, EMAS.  The certificate is valid until 28th September, 2008.
